Sign-up Overview & Operating Guidelines
Our resort management is making several operational changes to help keep guests and staff safe for the coming ski season. Social distancing will be expected at all times, indoors and out. Face masks will be required when in any resort facility, including our patrol room, and whenever social distancing is not feasible i.e. in lift lines, on lifts and when treating patients. We all anticipate that these extraordinary measures are applicable to this season, and we will revert back to our normal scheduling practices next season (if not sooner).
Our patrol facility will support a maximum of 12 people while maintaining recommended social distancing minimums. This means that we cannot support the free flow of members and guests in the building this year. Insuring everyone has the opportunity to meet shift requirements while maintaining a safe (socially distanced) environment will require each of us to commit to a schedule this year. In addition, we will have to adopt an on-duty patroller only policy for the patrol room.
Maintaining our quality of service to our resort and customers while meeting the above objectives is our challenge. To ensure adequate coverage of the hill and the patrol room, we are implementing the following scheduling system.

Maintaining our quality of service to our resort and customers while meeting the above objectives is our challenge. To ensure adequate coverage of the hill and the patrol room, we are implementing the following scheduling system.
- Volunteer days (weekend days plus Christmas – New Year’s week days) will be split into morning and afternoon shifts.
- Morning shift 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM with 5 members on-duty
- Afternoon shift 12:00 Noon to 4:30 PM with 10 members on duty
- Saturday’s when the resort is open until 9:00 will include a 3:30 PM – 9:00 PM shift
- Each shift will have two sign-ups, one for patrollers certified to drive toboggans and one for non-drivers. Non-drivers will be expected to be in the treatment room during the shift.
- The shift schedule is intended to eliminate scheduling lunch hours and eating in the patrol room.
- Pre-Christmas sign-up will be scheduled with two shifts as above.
- Chairlift Evacuation training will be conducted at 5:00 PM on Saturdays December 12 and 19. All members are encouraged to sign-up for one of these weekends.
- Primary Members:
- 2 pre-Christmas shifts
- 10 post-Christmas shifts including 2 Saturday night shifts.
- Secondary Members:
- 6 post-Christmas shifts including 1 Saturday night shift
SCHEDULING RESTRICTIONS:
- Members shall not schedule a morning and afternoon shift in same day.
- Members shall not schedule more than three (3) shifts in a weekend.
- Members are asked to schedule shifts throughout the season and not bunch-up in consecutive weekends.
- If there are open spots on any Wednesday for a shift for the coming weekend, any member can sign up for extra shifts.
- Members that would like to patrol on days when shifts are full may patrol, but are asked to use the patrol room at times when it is not populated with the shift patrollers. Plan your arrival and departure so you are not using the patrol room when scheduled shifts are arriving or departing.
- Each patroller is asked to sign up for their desired shifts as soon as possible, but only sign up for a maximum of 10 shifts from Christmas Day through the end of the season. Once everyone has signed up, there will be additional shifts available for additional sign ups.
