Jim Mottern (National Number 10544) (March 25, 1938 - November 21, 2024, 86yrs)
Jim was with the National Ski Patrol as a Senior Alpine Patroller and retired in 2016 after 37 years. Ski Patrol was a big part of his life. Jim started his patrolling carrier at Mt Holly in 1980 and later transferred to Schuss Mountain. Jim was very active in training patrollers throughout his time as a patroller. He spent 22 years as a certified OEC (Outdoor Emergency Care) instructor and 19 years as an OET instructor (Outdoor Emergency Transportation), helping many candidates become patrollers through the years. He also was a trainer and supervised the snow mobile use on the hill at Schuss. Jim was awarded the Outstanding Schuss Mountain Ski Patroller of the year in 2007 for all his service to this patrol. In recognition of all these efforts and more He was awarded a National Appointment Number 10544 by NSP. |
